Ancient Greece is something most people in the West start learning about as kids, and in those early days, a lot of learning is visual. That means the stereotypical aesthetics of that particular corner of history are well-known: togas, sandals, crowns of golden leaves, woven and braided fabrics, and the colors white, ivory and gold all play big roles. When Karl Lagerfeld set out to theme Chanel’s Cruise 2018 collection around ancient Greece, he didn’t stray far from those tropes—in fact, he didn’t stray at all, and the resulting bags are in stores now.
These bags will be attractive to people interested in the colors and textures of Greece in particular, and the light, warm shades make for an excellent getaway wardrobe (this is a resort collection, after all). Check out all the bag’s from the brand’s expansive lookbook below, which includes new seasonal versions of the popular Boy, Classic Flap and Gabrielle lines. As always, we’ve included prices.
